Ashley Anderson is the on-location correspondent for Deadbeat: Kentuckiana Child Support Court. Currently, she is also an editor for the sports new site Bleacher Report and co-host of a sports radio show on 970 WGTK. She previously worked as the staff writer for a local society newspaper and graduated from the University of Louisville, where she earned her degree in Spanish with a minor in communications. |
Nichole Compton - From teen mom to attorney and judicial candidate, Nichole has continuously been a positive force in her community and the nation, overcoming every obstacle she faces.
Nichole Taylor Compton, a lifetime Louisvillian, is proud of her community, sparking her deeply-rooted desire to continue serving her community. The experience as a young mother and certified mediator has afforded her wisdom and knowledge that she draws upon in her daily life as well as when speaking to parents, young adults and at-risk youth. Nichole has a J.D. and MBA and owns run her own law office, where her practice touches every level of Kentucky trial courts. Additionally, Nichole was selected to be a Guardian ad Litem. Further, she is also a Court-approved Certified Mediator and is a Professional Motivational Speaker on the national circuit. Nichole has a positive character and loving spirit that audiences cannot ignore. She is a truly humble person who makes every person she meets feel like family when she introduces herself as “just Nichole.” She has managed to do more in her short life than many have done in a lifetime. Because of these experiences, Nichole inspires through sharing her passions and stories of perseverance and endurance. |
Carolyn Gaeta is a media maven. She has been on both sides of the camera as an on air news reporter (WRTV; WRDW; WAVE TV) and now enjoys training others who may find themselves answering questions from the press – especially during a crisis. Her communication skills have led to senior level executive positions as Director of Public Relations for Six Flags Amusement Parks where she led Kentucky Kingdom through a major accident during the summer of 2008. Her response to a teen girl losing her feet on a drop ride was captured on National TV and Print mediums for months after the incident. McLean also guided SFKK through bankruptcy and managed the closing of that particular park. She is often a guest speaker at IAFE conventions, Fair Housing Seminars, and various PRSA chapter meetings. Carolyn also held the coveted role of Director of Communications for historic Churchill Downs Racetrack (Entertainment Division), where she coordinated coverage for the summer music festival HullabaLOU and Fork, Cork & Style event with celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. Currently she is a Public Relations Consultant who specializes in the affordable housing industry as counsel for LDG Development in Louisville, KY and keeps her on air skills sharp by hosting various cable shows and commercial related spots. Carolyn is married to 84 WHAS AM Sports Talk Host Lachlan McLean and they have two young daughters. She is also a dedicated volunteer at The Community Foundation of Louisville and enjoys teaching drama at Saint Patrick School. Carolyn graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre and Broadcast Journalism. She went to high school at The Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, KY with an emphasis in Drama Performance. |
Deadbeat's latest edition: Oliver Barber, has joined the show as legal adviser and co-host. He is Senior Partner at BARBER, BANASZYNSKI & HIATT, PSC in Louisville, KY. For more than 30 years, Ollie Barber has championed the rights of disadvantaged, downtrodden and wronged individuals and groups.
In the courtroom, Mr. Barber has won numerous verdicts that have resulted in better care for the disabled, improved conditions for prisoners, and legal protection for youth accused of committing crimes. In the boardroom, he has advised corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations. In the community, Mr. Barber’s diverse service record ranges from soccer referee to revitalizing a city waterfront.
